Q: What can you do for me?
A: When you separate from your partner it is a really tough time for all concerned. It can be made worse by confusing legal jargon and unfamiliar processes. I can give you straightforward, clear advice about the legal process and the likely outcome in your case, and also about the options available to you to reach a settlement.
Q: What makes you different from other divorce lawyers?
A: I will give you jargon-free legal advice. As a trained collaborative lawyer I firmly believe that where possible it is better for a couple to reach a settlement through negotiations rather than putting their family through the court process. However, where it is necessary to do so, I can guide you through court proceedings and I have many years experience of doing so.
Q: What do your clients say about you?
A: “I want to thank you for your support over the past year. The advice I was given from the start was spot on, very professional (I just wish the other side had seen that too). I was glad to know the team at Mills & Reeve but especially you were there to support me.”
“Your professional competence inspired great confidence, and was most reassuring at a time when I badly needed such support. I was particularly grateful for your advice on financial matters.”
Q: What involvement do you have in the local community?
A: I volunteer with the Birmingham Free Legal Advice Group, a collaboration between Mills & Reeve and Birmingham University Law Department. Through this scheme I am able to support law students giving free legal advice to people with family law issues, who might not otherwise be able to afford advice.
Q: What else should I know about you?
A: In my spare time I run a chamber orchestra and have become adept at dealing with all forms of musical crises!
