Q: What can you do for me?

A: The breakdown of a personal relationship is an extremely difficult time for everyone involved, whether you are looking to divorce, separate or need assistance with child related issues. My aim is to provide you with a clear explanation of the options available to you when facing the difficult decisions that have to be made at this time.

My work includes assisting clients where there is a complicated asset base (perhaps including companies, family trusts or pension arrangements) or where there is an international dimension.

We are also finding that, increasingly, clients want to protect their position before entering into a relationship, and I regularly advise clients on pre-marital agreements to provide them with reassurance and protection when entering into a new relationship.

Q: What makes you different from other divorce lawyers?

A: Having been a divorce lawyer for over 40 years, there are very few situations that I have not come across when advising clients upon their relationship breakdown. I have particular insight into effective ways of dealing with pensions on divorce, and am regarded as an expert in this area.

I am the President of the International Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers and am regularly involved in advising clients whose cases have an international element.

Q: What involvement do you have in the local Leeds community?

A: I am a trustee of the Harrogate International Festival and am Chairman of Leeds Festival Chorus. Another expression of my interest in music is my role as Organist and Choirmaster of Knaresborough Parish Church. I am also a governor of St Peter’s School, York.

Q: What else should I know about you?

A: I have a wide range of interests outside the office ranging from classic cars to music and football (Barnsley Football Club, I am proud to say).
