Q: What can you do for me?

A: If you’ve decided to divorce, the future can feel very uncertain. For almost twenty years, I have helped people deal with all the issues that arise on divorce. For some people, the most difficult problems have been about finance. For others, concern about the arrangements for their children has been uppermost in their minds. Whatever the problem you face, I will help you form a plan to see you through to a positive future.

Q: What makes you different from other divorce lawyers?

A: Understanding that every person facing a divorce has different needs and priorities is an important part of how I work with my clients. By exploring what each client wants to achieve in a difficult situation, I can tailor the approach that we take together to find the best solutions. I have been heavily involved in promoting collaborative family law as a constructive way of resolving divorce settlements. I have as much experience as any practitioner in the Leeds and Yorkshire area in this new and developing approach. I am also an experienced mediator but can, when necessary, represent you effectively in court.

Q: What do your clients say about you?

A: Many of my clients are referred to me by existing and former clients. Clients often tell me that they find me highly accessible and user friendly. Other clients have praised the constructive and wide ranging thought that I have given to their situations, which has led to early cost effective settlements.

Q: What involvement do you have in the Leeds community?

A: Having been born and raised in Yorkshire, I have had a lifelong association with Leeds and the surrounding area. I have been on the committee, and am a former Chairman, of the West and North Yorkshire region of the divorce lawyers’ association – Resolution – since I qualified as a solicitor in 1992. The committee works to ensure that the very best family law and divorce advice is available to everyone who needs it in the area. Outside of the law, over the years, I have been heavily involved in fundraising for charities for the mentally handicapped and am currently secretary of the Friends of Wakefield Cathedral.

Q: What else should I know about you?

A: I’m passionate about what I do. Helping a client to find their way through the minefield of divorce gives me as much professional satisfaction now as it did when first I qualified. My enthusiasm for my job is shared by every member of our Leeds team of specialist divorce lawyers, in whom I take great pride.
