Q: What can you do for me?

A: As an experienced family lawyer, I can advise you on issues that matter most to you and your family.

This may include taking steps to protect your assets at the start of a new stage in your relationship, whether you are moving in with your partner or you have decided to get married.

Alternatively, if your relationship has broken down, I will advise you on separation and divorce and the various issues you need to consider.

We will always explore the various options available so that you can make informed decisions and achieve the outcome that best meets your particular family’s needs.

Q: What makes you different from other divorce lawyers?

A: A divorce lawyer’s knowledge of the law should be a given. My strengths have always been the relationship I have with my clients and my understanding of the issues that matter most to them.

I am committed to understanding your specific circumstances and what matters most to you and your family. This enables me to provide the best possible service.

Q: What do your clients say about you?

A: "Sue was fantastic throughout the process. She made a difficult subject quite straightforward with her professionalism and advice. Her ability to turn around documents extremely quickly whilst making me always feel well informed and advised was very impressive."

"Sue kept me on the straight and narrow, listening to me but most importantly giving me advice – even if it wasn’t the message I wanted to hear. She was always on my side, professional and concise.”

“I knew I wanted to pay for the best advice – and this is what I got. I am very happy with the legal advice Sue provided."

"I really enjoyed working with Sue. She struck a really nice balance between being highly professional, showing empathy and being very practical and outcomes focused throughout."

"I was willing to pay the premium cost for the service on the basis that I would be working with an experienced lawyer who would pick up on issues quickly, offer measured and pragmatic suggestions and who would appreciate some of the complexities and nuances of my personal financial situation. There is no doubt that Mills & Reeve delivered extremely well on all these fronts."

Q: What involvement do you have in the Manchester community?

A: I was born and bred in the North West and I have lived in Manchester or Cheshire all of my life. I have worked in Manchester City Centre for eight years, and have built up very close links with local accountants, financial advisers, banks and other professionals. These contacts are also available to assist you as and when you need them.

I am a member of the Manchester Area Resolution. I sit on the committee of the Manchester Collaborative Law pod and the committee of the Manchester Area Association of Women Solicitors. I also attend various local networking groups.

Q: What else should I know about you?

A: I have specialised in family law since 2004 and I qualified as a collaborative lawyer in 2010. I have a Level 2 Certificate in counselling, which has helped me to understand my clients' emotional needs. My clients have ranged from non-working spouses to professionals, including solicitors, barristers, accountants, medical professionals and teachers, manufacturers, owners of small family businesses and directors and shareholders of large PLCs and everything in between.
