Would-be serial bigamist falls at the third hurdle

A Cumbria court has handed down a suspended jail sentence to 42-year-old Kevin Quinn after he attempted to get married for a third time and the registrar became suspicious.

He married his first wife, Caroline, in 1989 and then purported to marry Julia in 1997. He blamed having been in a drunken state for several years for making him forget to divorce Caroline before marrying Julia. He was also ordered to pay court costs.
