A civil partner will be entitled to a pension equal to his deceased partners if both partners were over pension age at the time of death, if only the surviving partner was over pension age at the time of death he will be entitled as from 2010.
A civil partner who is under pension age at the time of death will have the same entitlement as a widow or widower.
Bereavement payment will be payable in the same circumstances as to a surviving spouse.
