Colin Rogerson

What can I help you with?

I have an international reputation for my expertise in fertility law. I help surrogates and would-be-parents navigate surrogacy arrangements (both in the UK and overseas), advise on parentage following assisted reproduction and have experience in many other areas, such as adoption and the use of embryos after a divorce or separation.

I also help parents resolve disagreements about their children.

Example(s) of some recent work

The best part of my job is that I work in an area of law where I can help create families.

Much of the work I do is highly technical and complex, often involving points of law that have not been considered by the courts before.

My clients come from a wide variety of backgrounds and include professionals, high-profile individuals and ultra-high net worth families. Many of the families I work with are international and many of my cases have an LGBTQ+ or human rights element (for example Re M (Children) [2017]).

What others say about me?

I have been described as the “surrogacy guru”, and am considered to be one of the leading fertility lawyers in the UK. I have recently been shortlisted for “International Family Lawyer of the Year” in the LexisNexis Family Law Awards 2022.

What else should you know?

I am a qualified Solicitor Advocate, Assisted Reproductive Technology Fellow of the Academy of Adoption and Assisted Reproductive Technology Attorneys, executive council member of the American Bar Association Family Law Section Assisted Reproductive Technology Committee, a member of the UK LGBT Family Law Institute and Resolution.
