What can you do for me?

I can help you to resolve the issues that can arise from the breakdown of a relationship. I am a Family lawyer and specialise in all types of family law work. I have particular expertise in complex private children law. I often assist parents who are separating and need advice and support to help resolve a dispute about, for example, where a child should live, how much time a child should spend with each parent, where a child should go to school and whether a child should be removed from the jurisdiction by a parent.

The cases that I deal with often involve disputes which have become intractable, issues of parental alienation, sexual abuse, domestic violence, mental health issues and drug and alcohol misuse. Many of these cases involve international elements.

In addition to the above, I advise clients on the full range of issues which can arise out of relationship breakdown and divorce, including the following:

  • the division of finances, including cases involving family businesses, trusts and complicated pension arrangements;
  • issues confronting unmarried couples, including the sharing of assets and financial support for children;
  • cohabitation agreements, separation agreements and pre and post-marital agreements; and
  • cases where there is domestic violence involved.

What makes you different from other divorce lawyers?

Dealing with the arrangements for children can be incredibly difficult, particularly when you have been through a divorce or separation. I will listen to you and support you throughout this time to try and achieve your aims and find a workable solution for you and your family. I pride myself on my sensitive, supportive and professional approach. My aim is to prepare you for each step of the way by providing you with clear and practical advice tailored to your particular circumstances.

What do your clients say about you?

Former clients have written: “thank you so much one and all for all your help in achieving this...we are so appreciative of all your professional and human efforts.” and “you are a lovely, bright and very professional and caring team….. the outcome was great” and “I received such excellent, first rate service from her and have been pleased to recommend her and your team to friends and associates.” (Client feedback)

Legal 500 describes Mills & Reeve LLP as ‘a dynamic firm that has really excelled in the last few years. It is a rising presence, regularly comes up against the big names, and matches, if not exceeds them’. (Legal 500 2017)

Chambers High Net Worth Guide reports that “Mills & Reeve is notable for its consistently strong offering across England, with family law teams in East Anglia, the Midlands, Leeds and Manchester as well as London. “They're one of the firms that I always recommend to people," remarks a barrister. "I think that they have the ability to take on the big cases; they've got the resources. This source continues: "I get the sense that they are very able to deal with the complex cases, because of the depth of expertise and the strength of the team behind them. They have real strength in depth. The partners are excellent, but they have a really strong back-up team as well. They have so many different offices, and overall they're all brilliant.” (Chambers HNW Guide 2017)

What else should I know?

I am a member of Resolution which is a national organisation of family lawyers who are committed to the constructive resolution of family disputes. I am part of an advisory group advising the Ministry of Justice on the digitalisation of applications to the Court for Child Arrangements Orders. I regularly write articles on areas of children and family law for leading family law publications. I am a relatively new mother and enjoy spending time with my son.
