Katherine Kennedy

What can I help you with?

Over 18 years as a family lawyer, I have been dealing with complex financial settlements and children issues focusing on guiding clients to reach out of court settlements. My mediation practice and negotiation led approach assists separating couples to reach swifter, more cost effective settlements tailored to their lives and objectives. I always have an eye on commercial outcomes.

Example(s) of some recent work

  • I recently acted for business owner wife. This was a family business pre-dating marriage. The business was successfully excluded from sharing at final hearing and costs orders made against husband.
  • I have been involved in a number of children cases involving allegations of direct and indirect harm including parental alienation, alcoholism and sex addiction.
  • I have acted on a number of cases involving public sector pension schemes and dealing with pension sharing after foreign divorce.
  • I recently acted on substantial inherited wealth cases – both on separation and at start of relationship with pre-nuptial agreements and cohabitation agreements.

What do others say about me?

“A first class family lawyer”

“…a calm and considered approach…honest and measured advice…”

“….wit, humour and warmth…you are brilliant with legal advice whilst still being fair to both parties”

What else should you know?

I am a trained mediator and collaborative lawyer giving people different pathways to resolve their differences. I sit on the West Midlands Resolution Committee – an organisation committed to adopting a non-confrontational approach to family law.
